Chicago Typographic Framed Poster

This map accurately depicts the streets and highways, parks, neighborhoods, coastlines, and physical features of Chicago using nothing but type. Every single piece of type was manually placed, a process that took hundreds of hours to complete.

Chicago's world-class Museum Campus, Millennium Park and other popular areas are depicted on the map in big, bold text. Off shore, waves of text undulate through Lake Michigan. Get up close and see all of the neighborhood and street names in this part of the city intricately and colorfully woven together, including the Loop, Gold Coast, Michigan Avenue, and Lake Shore Drive.

The map is based on place names and geography as they appear in Open Street Map.
